This is probably not something you want posted here but I am happy to be a guinea pig by own choice. I have been drinking diluted 3% Food grade hydrogen peroxide for infections back in 2010 until 2017 since I did not do good on antibiotics and was...

I hope someone can help me . So about a year ago I started having chest pain when coughing that brought me into the ER That brought me into getting a catscan that showed severed emphysema and hyperinflated lungs . I did a spirometry test that showed Copd and Emphysema.  I was diagnosed wit stage 3 emphysema at age 40 and was told I had 32 & percent lung function.  I dont feel out of breath but this pressure and pain in my pec muscles is there all the time . My doctor thought this could be costochondritis but when i went to physical therapy the doctor said No It wasnt costochondritis but my pecs were tight and to do pec exercises.  I have had my heart checked thats been ruled out . I been living wit this pain for almost a year and no clear answers to why . Its tender to touch above both breast . Ive used heat and cold presses and ibuprofen no help . Im not getting any clear answers or solutions on whats is causing this pain . Any other ideas or test I should be asking  for ? Im so annoyed feeling this pressure pain in my chest everyday.  I been prescribed breztri for inhaler . My chest feels no different .

You are doing exactly what my physical therapist told me to do when I got home from the hospital. This does not seem like much, but it will build up your strength and endurance so that you will be able to do Pulmonary Rehab.

I have recently been diagnosed with gerd. And I had COPD for about eight years. I have woken up at night not being able to breathe in or out. I have to get up out of bed before Iโ€™m able to breathe. Sometimes I will be making a noise. Itโ€™s only happened when I fell asleep without my cpap machine. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s my sleep apnea or copd because it seems to take forever to catch my breath. Has anyone else experienced this before?

Does anyone know if support, education, good pulmonologists in the Sarasota, Florida area?

So far I have passed out 3 times in the last 2-3 weeks. I couldn't get to a place to sit in time. When I came to I was gasping for air. I got myself to a sitting position on the floor/ground and talk myself through the steps of diaphragmatic breathing starting with relaxing my shoulders. I am new to COPD diagnosis. I am still being treated by my Primary. She has not referred me to a Pulmonologist. I have been fighting a very resistant UTI and my Primary felt that my sudden, rapid decline may be heart related. Nuclear Stress Test came back abnormal and a Heart Catheterization is scheduled.
Has anyone fainted from Shortness of Breath, especially early on when you did not yet understand your new limitations? Any comments, tips, advise would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks for the wonderful welcome. To answer a few of your questionsโ€ฆyes, I do have a pulmonologist but starting Monday I am looking for a new one to get a second opinion. The one I have has only this month put me in physical therapy. Itโ€™s for the whole body because I am weak. He says when I get stronger I will feel better and breathe better. Do yโ€™all agree? Is pulmonary rehab different than physical therapy? If so, he has not put me in that. I am recovering from a week long stay in the hospital with Bacterial Pneumonia, respiratory failure with hypoxia, and sepsis. I survived it. Thankfully! But I breathe much worse now. Iโ€™ve been on oxygen day and night up until this week but now I am to have no oxygen during the day. Only at night. I question the docs decision on this because a simple 10 foot walk to the bathroom makes me feel like Iโ€™m suffocating! Is that normal? Does withholding oxygen make your lungs better? He told me just to sit down and donโ€™t panic, just relax and take slow deep breathes. But if I have to, use the rescue inhaler. See? This is why I want a second opinion. He answers all my questions very vaguely. Almost like I irritate him and thatโ€™s not ok with me. Ya know? I know yโ€™all arenโ€™t doctors but maybe someone has some advice about which direction I should go. I am fixing to read as much info that I can on here. I feel so thankful to have come across yโ€™all. For the information and the insight yโ€™all can give.

I ran across this site drugs.com and not sure how many know about it, it is worth checking out. Since finding this site I did a search on here and see many use it for a reference on the drugs they are taking for interactions between the drugs.  A good resource to add to your arsenal.
